She’s a beauty that’s for sure! Hourglass never fails to please and here they come again with another tasty instalment in the makeup range; Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Creme lipstick.
Im not normally one to kiss and tell but I just couldn’t resist!
I was lucky enough to be given a little sample of this delicious red called Icon, when I recently bought an Hourglass powder in Liberty. I was of course instantly inspired to create a little makeup tutorial in honour of my second favourite saints day; Valentines (Saint Nick will always be my first!!!)
It’s everything you’d expect from the brand. Sumptuous, smooth, delicate yet powerful and utterly gorgeous. My lips feel so smooth and despite the velvety texture it has great staying power. I managed to to wear it all day long without it making a guest appearance along my teeth, which is always a bonus.
It can be dressed up or down as any classic red lipstick can be. Ive worn this over all week with a little winged eyeliner for a tres french look.

Thank your for your coverage on the hourglass red lipstick. I have been looking to into investing in a classic for a while but find it hard to find the right shade for olive skin. I have since been and tried this myself….. it’s perfect. Thanks a very astute and accurate review
Really glad you found this helpful. I find sticking to anything with a blue tone helps as they’re generally good all-rounders. This one is particularly lovely. Glad you liked it x
