La Mer Glossybox

Some people think it’s lucky to win the lottery, but for those of us in know, well, we just know luck was ALL about getting your hands on the La Mer Glossybox.

It’s all about perspective I guess. And from where I stand, I’m feeling pretty lucky.

La Mer Glossybox

I have been following the beautiful Paula Holmes of The Ldn Diaries blog and YouTube for quite some time now. I love her writing style, her gorgeous pictures and her informative and fun YouTube videos. If you don’t already, go find and follow her!

Paula told all her viewers about the upcoming La Mer Glossybox and how to get yourself on the wait list to be in with a chance of scooping one on the day they were released. This was especially important for us non-glossybox subscribers. Amazingly Glossybox extended the opportunity to purchase this special edition box to non-subscribers. #heroes

I was hovering around my inbox at exactly 9am and broke into a sweat when the email finally came through…”available now”. My fingers have never moved so fast! Add to cart, Pay now. Done and done. It was mine! Hooray.

A week later my Glossybox arrived contained therein a rather lovely and distinguishable green box, delicately placed inside. A pretty pink splash of colour across the top read “La Mer”.

So here it is in all its luxurious and coveted glory…

If you are born under a sign that is pre-disposed to jealousy, you might want to look away now…

Yep. It’s pretty spectacular! A wonderful collection of travel and tester sized La Mer products. Their best selling products in the range  grouped for their complimentary performance. And for the grand sum of £40. I know, I feel like Dick Turpin.

So let me tell you a little more about the contents…

What’s in the box?

The Micellar Water

This cooling cleanser has a refreshing feel of a splash of water without the skin drying effects. Positively charged water molecules dissolve impurities and makeup (even waterproof), while purifying algae gets to grips with dirt and pollution leaving the skin feeling soft and hydrated.

Really simple to use, just moisten one or 2 cotton pads, add the micellar water and sweep across the face, neck and eyes. No need to rub. The active ingredients do all the and work.

My skin feels super clean, moisturised and prepped for the next step. This Micellar water is pricey at £70 but it is head and shoulders above anything else I have tried.

The Treatment Lotion

Described as Liquid Energy, this rich and silky hydrator floods skin with moisture and wakes up the complexion as well as visibly improving the texture and evening out the skin tone. It also helps any products you apply on top to penetrate the skin’s surface layers more efficiently, boosting the effectiveness of your overall skincare routine.

Gorgeous and silky smooth, this lotion glides on and instantly lifts the skin. I detected an instant improvement in the appearance of my skin. It just looked a little better and brighter.

The Revitalising Serum

La Mer’s newest serum instantly infuses skin with much-needed energy and hydration. Micro-droplets help skin attract and hold moisture, while delivering the key active ingredients deep within the skin’s surface layers.

This serum is applied to the face in the mornings and evenings. Simply apply 2 drops to your finger tips and pat onto your skin not he face and neck.

The Eye Concentrate

The fragile eye area is one of the first places to show signs of ageing.  The eye concentrate combats this with Radiant Ferments that infuse the skin with energy, reinforcing it’s innate support system. A calming cocktail of sea algae and anti-irritants help to sooth and balance.

I used this with a metal applicator I already have and noticed a significant improvement in the fine lines around my eyes. Whilst it isn’t erasing them permanently its certainly improves the appearance and I am confident it will help slow down the process.

The Intensive Revitalising Mask

It’s the secret to detoxing skin and leaving it brighter, fresher and plumper. The trio of Miracle Broth, Vitality Ferment and Purifying Ferment help to promote skin turnover, drench skin with moisture, neutralise free radicals and protect your complexion from stress and pollution.

I have used this just the once. It is applied generously and left on for 8 minutes. After which you simply wipe away any excess. I left mine on overnight which gives an intensive treatment. My skin was glowing in the morning. I will be running to buy a full size version of this lovely mask.

Crème de la Mer

This moisturiser is the very definition of a cult product, thanks to the miracle Broth that makes it so effective at hydrating and soothing skin…To activate the Miracle Broth, warm a small amount between your fingertips until the cream becomes slippy and transparent, then pat it onto clean dry skin.

There are different versions of the cream to suit all skin types, a great or a gel. Additionally you can use the cream on oily skin but you are advised to use it just once a day. If you have combination skin you are advised to apply it just to your dry areas.

The La Mer Glossybox was everything I hoped it would be and more. It has given me a very cost effective insight into the brand and has clarified which of the products work well on my skin. I wish all brands would stand by their products and do this, particularly the higher ends ones. It is so difficult to make an investment in a high end product when you are unsure of how it will work with your skin. I always feel it is a testaments of a brands commitment to customer service and belief in their product when they are willing to let customers try before they buy essentially.

Well done La Mer, I will be back with confidence.
