Multimasking; meeting all the demands of the skin you’re in

Multimasking different collection of facial masks

We all have a type. Skin I mean. Meeting the demands of the skin you’re in can be a bit tricky with a single product, so multimasking has become my new best skincare regime.

I’ve been struggling with several skin issues which I’m sure you have heard me complaining about once or twice before:

Hormonal breakouts
Redness
Uneven texture
Fine lines

I know I know, Lucky me!

But we are all in the same boat, we all have issues that we want to address, often more then one when it comes to our skin.

Trying to find a single product that addresses all of these issue has been nigh on impossible, and often unnecessarily expensive too.

So I got to thinking about multimasking. I had heard this term being batted about social media, seen a few blog posts on it and the odd YouTube video too, but the proverbial lightbulb, had never actually switched on!

That was until I was pawing over the Origins mask counter very recently. It suddenly struck me. Why buy a face mask that I am probably going to give up on in a week or two (complete waste of money), when I can invest a few more pounds, buy 2 to target all my skin concerns, and more then likely use all of the product up. But most importantly get the results I’m paying for.

Ding! ? Lightbulb moment.

And so that’s exactly what I did. And I have been multimasking ever since.

Multimasking

My current go to is:

Origins Original Skin Retexturising mask with Rose Clay over my T-zone and my upper cheekbones to address redness, uneven texture and to deep clean my pores.

Chantecaille Jasmine and Lilly Healing mask over my forehead and lower cheeks to address fine lines and dehydration. It contains vitamin B5, chamomile and mimosa which are incredibly nourishing and calming on the skin. Really great if you have redness or sensitive skin. It also contains seaweed which helps to brighten the skin and stimulate cell renewal.

I do this combination once a week, sometimes twice if I am having a particularly bad skin time. I will also use the Chantecaille all over when my skin is particularly irritated. It is especially lovely during the cold winter months.

I also use the Elemental Herbology for a quick skin boost in between times when I need a bit of resurfacing and more radiance. This is a fantastic peel type mask which gives results whilst being gentle enough for my delicate skin.

My second multi-masking combo is one I use when my skin is hormonal and needs taking in hand.

I use Omorvicza Deep Cleansing mask over my T-zone and around my chin and jaw line where I get hormonal breakouts. This product is hardworking but soothing. I find it helps to either bring deep hormonal cystic spots to the surface or simply soothes the redness and swelling.

I then use my Dermo28 Vital Mask, a nourishing cream formula anti-ageing mask, on the drier areas of my skin, to add some much needed glow and vitality. I find that I suffer with both ends of the hormone spectrum; painful cystic spots around my T zone and chin, and dry lacklustre grey skin elsewhere. What a charmed life I live!

This multitasking has really helped to address the different skin concerns I have. And whilst it does mean buying more products to meet your different skin needs, ultimately nothing is wasted and you get results. For me, that is true value for money.

  1. I’m a big fan of multi masking! I’m currently using an Origins clay mask (a different one – it’s dark grey in colour) to address areas where I get breakouts and then The Body Shop British Rose plumping mask all over for some hydration. Loving the look of the products you’ve been using, not to mention the beautiful imagery on your blog! x
