Hello Stranger!

standing beneath the roses at Lulworth Park

So the original post started a little something like this… all the way back in early 2019:

Well hey there stranger. Long time no see. Apologies for being MIA. I have literally no excuses other than life.

The festive season sort of took over towards the end of last year and I found myself whipped up in a frenzy of seasonal celebrations. It was all rather marvellous, and I was snapping away with every intention of creating lovely stories to share with you. It’s a bit like being out and drinking too many cocktails. It’s all fun and games at the time, until you have to get yourself out of bed the next morning and be a responsible human being.

So here I am, the next morning, or rather the next Year and I’m blushing whilst bidding a Happy New Year to you lovely lot a whole month into it! Sorry about that…genuinely

I’ve got lots of lovely things that I want to share with you. A whirlwind trip to Paris, a stay at the beautiful Babington House, a little cocktail making class that was literally magical, and so much more. These are all things I have been up to recently that I think you will love too and can put on your 2019 to-do list. So do pop back. I’m still here and I will be breathing some much needed life into this little space of mine very soon.

Happy New year!

Lots of love

Ok, so reading back through I realise that as well as not posting this draft onto the blog, I never made good on my word. I didn’t share any of those lovely things I eluded to. I feel a pang of embarrassment at my wildly unreliable posting schedule but more so I feel a knot of disappointment that I haven’t nurtured this space, which has been so precious to me over the years.

A long road back

It is fair to say that Covid kicked all our butts. More so than many of us realise. Looking back I can see how much and in what ways it affected me now. Loosing any feelings of inspiration or motivation to write and create is painfully obvious here on the blog. But that said I believe creation and writing should only come from a place of inspiration. It should never be forced. The lockdowns and the stormy seas we have been navigating post lockdowns, emerging into our versions of a new normal have been difficult. It hasn’t ever felt like the right time to pick back up here, until recently. It’s been a long road back, but I think I might have found my way, finally.

Something has shifted and I really would like to get back on track sharing again. Beautiful experiences, places to go, delightful products and tasty treats as and when I come across things I think you would love too. I feel the flutterings of inspiration and logging back into my little slice of the internet today filled me with excitement.

Looking ahead

A good place to start might be sharing those things I eluded to in my original post, Paris, Babbington House and spell-binding cocktail classes, what do you think? I also have lots of news about our house move and the renovations we are doing to make it into a home.

I hope you will bear with me as I gently get back on track and I hope you will pop back now and again to see what’s new.
