Wedding Season (Part 1)

Bridesmaid at wedding rehearsal

So the week had finally arrived; my little sister was getting married. The excitement amongst siblings, friends and extended family was palpable. Every snapchat and WhatsApp message was wedding themed and frantic questions and answers were darting back and forth between recipient. “Who’s buying the heelstoppers?” Who’s buying the bagels and cream cheese”?! “What time does the photographer arrive?!!!” It was frantic, but in the best kind of way.

Our first group outing of the week was to the salon to have our manicures and pedicures done. My sister had paid for all 8 of her adult bridesmaids to have this as a treat. It was a great start to the week. After last minute collections from the train station we all met up at the salon and enjoyed bubbles and chocolates on arrival. The usual serene music had been replaced with anthems from the Hen Weekend. As we grew more warm and fuzzy with each sip of bubbles, we deliberated over nail colours. There was no resounding decision and everyone went for what they fancied. I opted for a subtle pink on my finger nails and a delicious coral on my toes. I shan’t horrify you with a picture of my “nik-nak” toes as they’re delightedly referred to amongst close family, but here’s a picture of my fingernails…

We all left on a high and were excited to be meeting up again the following day for the wedding rehearsal.

We reconvened in the glorious April Sunshine at the wedding venue Every detail was considered and we walked through events jovially and with great excitement for the big day to come.

Amidst laters being hoisted and pristine white table clothes being pressed, we laughed and joked and reeled with excitement about the day ahead. The bride to be was composed and kept her head in the game ( well someone had to!)

The venue was coming together beautifully and so we went off to be walked through our paces for the big day ahead. There were of course laughs-a-plenty and the excitement continued to bubble over.

Parley Manor is one of the nicest wedding venues I have seen. The grounds are beautiful and romantic. It is very much an outdoors venue and so you need the weather to be on your side here. Always a gamble with our British weather!

We left in high spirits and full of excitement and anticipation for the big day ahead….
