Agustinus Bader The Cream

I was introduced to Agustinus Bader The Cream quite some time ago in a most unexpected way. Typically, luxury skin care brands burst onto the beauty scene with a bang, but this cream arrived into my life and onto my dressing table rather more subtly.

Around about 15 months ago I was sat at a dinner table next to my grandmother, whom I don’t see all that much but when I do we have polite conversations about the important things in life, designer handbags skincare and makeup.

She’s a very elegant lady and someone who has managed her beauty and skin over the years in such a way that every time I see her she looks like she is getting younger. I know, it’s not fair. But on this day she was in the business of sharing a little of her beauty inside information. She leaned in and asked me if I’d heard of Augustinus Bader? No I replied, so she proceeded to tell me her tale.

A few moments later I felt slightly furious that my Grandmother had been hoodwinked into buying a £200+ face cream from the back of the Sunday Telegraph confidential ads. She swore that it was the best cream she had used (and to be fair, she did look fabulous) but I felt a heaviness inside that she had somehow been conned.

I forgot all about Augustinus Bader after that and went about my usual business of stalking my favourite beauty accounts and diligently reading the beauty updates from Space NK. Fast-forward 3 months and a glossy new product launch is announced in said Space NK beauty updates and yes you guessed it, the new product everyone and the world was raving about was none other than Augustinus Bader The Cream.

According to the reports this really was “The Cream”. The only one you would ever need, significantly reducing the number of products you need in your daily routine whilst significantly increasing the youthfulness and vitality of your skins appearance. I was sold.

The Price ~Augustinus Bader The Cream

It’s an investment at £205 for a 50ml bottle, which the brand says should last you around 6 weeks, but, I am a firm believer that whether it is £20 or £200 pounds spent, it is only a waste if the product doesn’t deliver.

I was really keen to get on and try this product but suddenly in March 2020 the world was put in hold and like so many of us, so was most of our income! I cut out all spending on non-essential items as I’m sure most of you did. But as we progressed through and things got easier I was able to start to indulge in my one true love again; beauty products.

In late summer SpaceKN had a cracker of a beauty summer gift ( if you don’t know about these, sign up to their newsletters, they are usually epic) and in this one was as luck would have it a travel size Augustinus Bader The Cream amongst a plethora of other goodies; add to cart!

I used the sample which lasted about 2 weeks and felt the benefits from the first use. My skin was hydrated, the fine lines I have on my forehead were reduced and overall my skin just felt nourished.

The Cream is un-fragranced which is always a surprise to me especially with high end products, but in this case not at all unpleasant. It is very light on the skin and feels breathable. It does leave a slight sheen on the skin for a few moments but even when I was in a rush I had no issues with applying makeup within moments of application. There is absolutely no pilling or slippage of makeup over the day on top of this cream. I loved it!

After Christmas I managed to bag myself an absolute bargain in the Liberty Christmas sale. The Augustinus Bader gift set was reduced to £205 for a 50ml The Cream and a full size body cream, essentially the body cream was free.

So I have been using the face cream for several months now, my Christmas sale bargain being around 7 weeks old and still going strong. My love affair is unwavering and I know that as soon as this one runs out I will be reinvesting. Yes £205 is a lot of money, but it is money well spent and I am seeing results. I would rather spend £205 and actually spend it and have something in return than spend £20 on a product that doesn’t deliver and essentially throw that money away.

I have very dehydrated skin and lots of dehydration lines which are gradually improving. I think on reflection I may be better off with The Rich Cream, but I am really happy with using The Cream at this stage, and the results to date are so good, I couldn’t;t be happier. At least I can move up to The Rich Cream if the results wane in time.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. This is a product that does deliver on it’s word. Yes it is on the pricier side but you are paying for results. A true investment in your skincare is never wasted.

I haven’t tried the body cream yet with any continuity but I will come back and review it for you once I have done. But for now, The Cream is centre stage on my dressing table.

I look forward to applying it every day and I often use it at night when I need that hit of hydration. I love that it cuts down on the fanfare of skincare. I haven’t needed to use a serum or essence or anything in addition. I have out of choice tried it with an oil on top for intense hydration. It layers beautifully and the results were amazing. I’ll tell you more about the oils I’m using soon. But for now, The Cream really is my product of choice. I have a few products on rotation that I would probably call my hero products or desert Island products Augustinus Bader has firmly muscled in and found a place on that list and I imagine it will have a firm foothold for a long time to come.

Expensive? Yes. Effective? Absolutely. IF you were looking for a sign, this is it. Buy The Cream.

Stay well
